Higher Education Coordinating Council To Meet December 14, 2010

TALLAHASSEE -- Marshall Criser, III and Jon Moyle, Sr., co-chairs of the Higher Education Coordinating Council announced today that the Higher Education Coordinating Council will hold a meeting December 14, 2010.

The meeting will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 12noon, in Reed Hall, House Office Building (Capitol Complex) 400 South Monroe Street, Tallahassee, Florida. Closer to the actual meeting date an agenda will be posted online at: www.floridahighereducation.org.

The seven (7) member Council was established to identify unmet needs and to facilitate solutions to disputes regarding the creation of new degree programs and the establishment of new institutes, campuses, or centers. The purpose of the Council is to make recommendations to the Legislature, the State Board of Education, and the Board of Governors, State University System of Florida.

The Board of Governors is the constitutional body created by voters in 2002 to guide the State University System of Florida.
